Not to be confused with the 2019 indie game of the same name. The second season will premiere on July 12, 2023. Early plot details indicate the season will follow a murder at a wedding. So far, Haddish, is set to return along with a new cast comprised of Ken Jeong, Elizabeth Perkins, Zach Woods, Paul Walter Hauser, Poppy Liu, Anna Konkle, Jack Whitehall, and Vivian Wu. On March 2nd, one day ahead of the first season finale, the show was renewed for a second season. The series stars Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Ilana Glazer, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Zoë Chao, Jamie Demetriou, and Dave Franco. However, when Xavier is killed during the party, the guests are interrogated by an eccentric detective - each one’s story taking on a different genre - to solve the case. The first season follows the events of a high school reunion and its afterparty held by a famous alumnus, the pop sensation Xavier. The eight episode first season premiered on Januon Apple TV+. The Afterparty is a 2022 comedic murder mystery television series created by Christopher Miller note Miller created the series and directs the first season as a solo outing, in contrast to his collaborations with Phil Lord and executive produced by him and Phil Lord. note Clockwise: Chelsea, Aniq, Zoe, Walt, Xavier, Yasper, Brett, and Danner. I'm invested though, so I'll be seeing this one through to the end. We’re all stars of our own movie. I wonder if his death will turn out to be an indirect "accident" in some way, even though that is never really a satisfying explanation. Speaking of which, that last text he sends Yasper is definitely not written by him.I think that much is clear. I think the "E" handwriting note might actually be from Xavier himself (by the way, it's hilarious to see how everyone misspells diarrhea differently). Shapiro and Quiet Heather fucking all over the place - seems like they're everywhere at once. Zoe is a goody-goody and that also seems too obvious, but maybe it'll turn out to be a double-bluff. Walt is the obvious wild card, so I think that's another red herring. The whole cast is great, the skewed perspective premise is entertaining and it's fun to speculate and see what the genre of each episode will be.Īt the end of episode 3, I feel like all these character-centric episodes are definitely red herrings, leading to the next likely suspect (seems like Chelsea is next), so I think they can all probably be safely eliminated from the suspect list. This will fill the weekly whodunnit? hole left by Only Murders in the Building. Just watched the first three and thought it was a fun ride. It's not gonna be Brett (the level 1 Red Herring), or Chelsea (the level 2 Red Herring), or Zoe and that guy nobody remembers (the level 3 Red Herrings). In conclusion Yasper's the killer, and I won't be fooled by any of the obvious red herrings. Xavier was never going to bless his track, but him emerging as the best friend of the recently deceased Xavier and inserting himself into a track Xavier was working on by himself makes way more sense. I think that's wrong, I think Xavier's more useful to him dead than alive. The biggest reason to doubt it is that Xavier was the ticket to Yasper's stardom, so he wouldn't kill him.
